The contest is to be an "Open Traditional" Index contest with the events as follows:

   Sat,- Wax on Standard Rectangle:  Standing @ 8',    Step up wax,   Standing @ 12' and Standing @ 10', 5 shots each .   Sun,- Blanks= 4'’ balloons @ 10' & 4'’ balloons @ 8', 5 shots each .  TIME & INTEREST PERMITTING WE WILL SHOOT AT PETE (Don's moving Cowboy with the three balloons)SUNDAY AFTERNOON.  The contest will be held on a gun range so there will not be backstops behind the targets.

 

NEW THIS YEAR   Saturday Afternoon, We plan on having a "Hollywood" (Cowboy type) Contest, STOCK GUNS, Lawman Ready position.  This will be a Pot Shoot and will consist of: two wax  events on   Standard Rectangle, Standing @ 10' & standing @ 12'.    Also Blanks= 4'' @ 8' & 4'' @ 10', all events 5 shots each. 

 

The Gold Lodge, MATCH MOTEL- 800-363- 2154  Be sure and tell them you are with the Fast Draw group.  You should make your reservation at least by April 5th.

All competitors who sign up to shoot will have their name put into a drawing for a Mernickle holster (the third holster provided by Mernickle)

  

 Contest will be held just outside Jamestown Calif. at the Mother Lode Gun Club. It is in the beautiful foot hills of the Mother Lode Gold Country in Central Calif. There are many attractions very close, including Yosemite National Park, which is about one hour away, steam train rides, gold panning, gambling casinos, and other things of interest.  The town of Sonora, famous from the old west days is about four miles away with many shops and so on. 

 

Lunches, & Sat. night dinner & to be provided by the Juniors of the Mother Lode Gun Club, inside the Club meeting & dining room.  Drawing for the third Mernickle holster and hopefully a few other items  will be held at the Sat night dinner.   (IF ANYONE WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING FOR THE DRAWING IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED).

 

Both lunches Sat and Sun would be $7.00 each and include:

 

        BBQ Hamburger/Cheeseburgers, Single or Double

        Chips,   Salad, Beverage and Homemade Cookies

 

Saturday night Dinner would be $15.00 each and include:

 

        BBQ Beef Ribs & BBQ Chicken, Baked potatoe, Beans

        Home made Salads with homemade dressings, 

        Garlic French Bread, Beverage, Homemade Desserts 

 

The meal is "home cooking" barbecued fresh ON SITE with homemade beans, salads and desserts.

 

There is room for several RV & camping units available on the club grounds, first come first serve (no hook ups).

Contest. on Saturday around noon.  Entry Fees:  Men's = $90.  Womens = $75  Events: All blanks shot on 4'' balloon targets, Elimination style.  Saturdays's events : 10 shots total of Standing Balloons @ 8'.  Five shots total of Standing 4'' balloons @ 10'.  Sundays Event  Five strings (10 shots ) Double 4'' balloons @ 8'.

The Durango World Standing Balloon Elimination contest will be held on August 21-22, 2010, at the Durango Depot.

 

Sept 25th & 26th

I have a Chairman Sanctioned Contest on the books for September 25th and 26th 2010 in Delta Colorado in the Park. It will be shot Traditional and will be Classified Elimination. It will be shot at 8' on a Blocker Target. I have a VERY nice LARGE covered pavillion to shoot under. We have picnic tables for all and no one will need to bring any protection from the sun or rain because the pavillion covers the seating area too. We have fast food and a Comfort Inn just a hundred yards from the shoot. You can fly into both Grand Junction, CO or Montrose, CO which both are about 25 to 35 miles away. The prize structure is still to be determined by possible additional sponsors!
